Capacity Building
Capacity Building is an IJRLE initiative dedicated to strengthening the research and academic-writing skills of our community — especially early-career and multilingual researchers. Our goal is to help scholars produce rigorous, well-structured work and publish it with confidence.
Our purpose
Strong scholarship rests on a set of skills that are rarely taught directly: framing a clear research question, reviewing the literature critically, choosing a sound methodology, reporting findings transparently, and navigating peer review. Through the Capacity Building initiative, IJRLE aims to make these skills accessible to all — bridging gaps in training and supporting researchers across our three languages of publication (English, Chinese, and Arabic).
What it will include
The initiative will grow over time. We are developing a programme of training and resources that will cover:
Workshops & webinars
Practical, hands-on sessions on academic writing and research methods, from forming a research question to preparing a manuscript for submission.
Author guides & toolkits
Step-by-step guides, templates, and checklists covering abstracts, original research articles, referencing, and more.
Research-skills resources
Guidance on literature searching, reference management, data management, researcher profiles, and the responsible use of AI tools.
Mentoring & peer-review support
Opportunities to learn how peer review works, how to respond to reviewers, and how to strengthen a paper before submission.
Publishing & open access
Help with choosing the right journal, understanding open access, and avoiding predatory outlets.
Multilingual support
Resources offered, where possible, in English, Chinese, and Arabic to serve our international community.
